Last Day of Elfie

Last day of Elfie

Well, it looks like our time with Elfie has come to an end this year. I am a little sad, but it gives me a whole year to think up a ton more ideas...if only I can remember to write them down. And I am proud to say that I did not forget to move him once this year! Now THAT is an ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Anyway, yesterday Elfie was caught spending a little extra time with his HONEY before he leaves.

And on our LAST DAY WITH ELFIE IN 2012,he was caught in the fridge making a Birthday Cake for Jesus. It is will be the perfect dessert to go with our Christmas Dinner. Thank you, Elfie!

Oh, Elfie, how we will miss you! See you in 2013! And say, "HI," to Santa for us!

Long Distance Relationship

Long Distance Relationship

My kids got a HUGE kick out of Elfie this morning. My boys were giggling and singing, "Elfie's got a GIRLFRIEND!" I think they may have gotten a bigger kick out of this than finding him on the toilet...and you know how boys LOVE their potty humor! Maybe Elfie will have to make a reappearance on New Years Eve?

The End is Near!

The End is Near

The kids are officially on Christmas Vacation and officially in the Christmas spirit! My gifts are bought and wrapped and the Christmas menu has been purchased and the kids have assembled and decorated their gingerbread treats. The end is officially near! Only four more nights until Santa arrives! Oh the excitement!

Here are three more days of what our Elfie has been up to:

One Wednesday, the kids caught Elfie in the freezer helping himself to a SWEET TREAT!

Thank you, Barbie, for lending me your coat! It's as cold as the North Pole in here!

On Thursday...well all that ice cream, you know...

I had also dropped a few chocolate chips in the toilet for full effect, but didn't want to gross anyone out with pics!

On Friday...In honor of the Mayans...sort of!

And that means only 4 days to get that shopping done!
The End is definitely near but, I still  have a few more ideas up my sleeve.

Happy Elfing!

Holiday Hustle and Bustle

Gosh, has it really been 4 days since I've posted? Guess it just goes to show how busy it gets during the Christmas Season (and most any other time of the year for us)! We had Christmas AND birthday parties to go to this weekend. Also, my husband (who is an avid hunter, going through a dry spell) FINALLY got a deer on Saturday. We spent all day Sunday baking cookies for one last package to ship out and processing the deer.  Yesterday morning I had a Cookie Craft Morning followed by an impromptu meeting with the School Liaison on base, followed by an not at all thorough cleaning of my house. This morning I attended a Reindeer Breakfast at my son's Kindergarten followed by my daughter's Spelling Bee and then a run to the grocery store to stock up on stuff to feed my kids during Christmas break...because we all know how fun grocery shopping with kids can be,even school age ones, so better to prepare now!! Anyway, I am back....pausing only briefly to pull my Egg Nog Cake out of the oven. Alright...deep breath...relax...here we go!

Saturday: Yep, I think Elfie's got the right idea. I could use a strong cup of Joe right now!

Diving into that morning cup of coffee.

Sunday: Looks like Efie snagged his own deer! Too bad it was with the car!

Monday: In honor of one of my 8 year old son's favorite shows, FINDING BIGFOOT.

My boys love this remote control bigfoot. Why? Because he FARTS. Typical boy joy!

Tuesday: Elfie greeted the kids has they headed out the door to the bus stop. Guess he managed to lock himself out last night!
Could you leave a key under the mat tonight, Guys?

Good thing there is less than a week left of Elf on a Shelf! I am running low on creativity! Time to  set aside some time for PINTEREST!!!

A Gift From My Mummy

  Elf Tut

This morning the kids found Elfie under the tree in a Christmas box all wrapped up like a MUMMY. They were a little distraught because they were convinced he must have opened one of THEIR gifts and climbed into the box. Oh, what joyous toy could have possibly been in there before Elfie got into it! It is so funny to see how my kids react to his little shenanigans!

Two More Days of Elfie Fun!

Two More Days of Elfie Fun!

It's been crazy busy here again with School Christmas Concerts, Spelling Bees, last minute Christmas shopping for gifts for those last minute office Christmas Parties, not too mention the last minute goodies the husband asked you to bake for that last minute party. (When I say "last minute" I mean "last minute" to me. I am sure hubby's known about it a month and likely didn't mention until, yes...the last minute!) Yes, its been busy, but I am trying really hard to relish every moment. All too soon the Christmas season will be over and it will be back to the same old, same old...Not that there's no joy in the regular routine...but there always seems to be that extra spark of magic around Christmas. (Maybe I've just been watching too many Christmas movies.)

Anyhow, here is what our Elfie has been up to the past two days:

Yesterday the kids found him in the Magic Bullet  making himself a smoothie. My older son, disappointed, complained that he's been WAY TO EASY to find. My daughter was worried he'd cut himself on the blades. Lol! I actually put one of the shaker tops on the bullet instead of the actual blade attachment...didn't want him losing any body parts! OK...so for tomorrow he needs to be more discreet and a less dangerous environment! Kids can be so hard to please!

This morning Elfie was in the freezer, making friends again! Quite the social butterfly he is! Notice the other two elves he's with. My kids got them from McDonald's the other night and insist on sticking them next to the elf each day so he doesn't get lonely. So sweet! Now on a not as sweet note, my daughter insisted I wait until Elfie goes back to the North Pole FOR GOOD before I buy anymore marshmallows. She is tired of Little Elfie messing with her sweet, gooey MARSHMALLOW GOODNESS! (My kids LOVE marshmallows.) Since Elfie was in the freezer the kids had a difficult time finding him. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, at least as far as being harder to find! As far as the danger factor...I am really hoping he doesn't get hypothermia in there!

HMMMM....now to start planning for tomorrow. Oh how I love PINTEREST!

Bulking Up!

What a social butterfly! Look at all the friends he's making!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Well it looks like the kids will get a freebie today. Elfie was found sleeping on the job this morning. Doesn't he look peaceful? My boys thought it was HILARIOUS that Elfie chose a GIRLY toy to snuggle with. My daughter was not thrilled...she wanted me to snatch that Littlest Pet Shop toy out of Little Elphie's arms. Not much for sharing I guess...but then again the Elf isn't watching today so I guess she won't make the naughtly list quite yet.

Oh Deer!

Trophy Hunting

This morning my children awoke to find ELFIE showing off his OUTDOORSMAN SKILLS. He seems to be quite aware that my husband HAS NOT had a successful hunting season this year and is testing out his own skills. Maybe I will have some venison for the freezer after all!

Full Metal Coat

Hold Your Fire!

Looks like Elfie forgot his coat...er Full Metal Jacket...this morning. To my, World War II Infatuated, 8 Year Old Son's delight, he found little Elfie in full surrender mode against a massive number of MILITARY TROOPS and TANKS. But with his  unending courage he managed to smile through it all. Looks like Elfie will survive to cause mischief another day.

Elfie: I SURRENDER

Stuck on Band-Aids

     A little Band-Aid Love

My 6 year old had received a sea shell from a little girl in his class yesterday. Jokingly, I asked if this little girl was his girlfriend, he says, "NOOOOO!!!"  (He still insists that I AM his girlfriend. Ha ha, LOVE that kid!) Anyway...back on track, he managed to cut himself a tiny bit on the bus with this shell. As soon as he got home he proceeded to the bathroom to get the band-aids. You-Know-Who must have been watching him like a hawk! This his how they found little Elphie this morning! He left quite a mess with the wrappers, too (and of course my kids refuse to pick up HIS mess.)

Have a great Weekend!

Making Friends

Yesterday was a CRAZY BUSY day, so I have TWO new Elfie pictures for you today!

Yesterday Elfie was caught making photo copies of himself. Yes, there was even a picture of his little butt. I guess he got lonely and decided to make some friends! LOL! The kids thought this was absolutely hilarious. My daughter took the copies he made to school today to show everyone.
Speaking of my daughter, she also took it upon her to design some clothes for her Elf as well as her friend's elf. I thought this was adorable! I don't have that picture though. If she brings it home I will have to scan and post it.

Butt shot on the right!

Today Elfie was  found counting down the days until Christmas. Even this little guy can't wait! Can't wait for Christmas or can't wait to get away from my little Hellions? (Really my kids are not THAT bad!) Not quite sure...

Counting Down AND Upside Down!

Off to a meeting I go! We'll catch you tomorrow...after we catch up with Elfie! Happy Friday!!

Silent Night

This morning little Elfie was showing off his "sensitive" side. The kids stumbled upon him rocking little Baby Jesus. Isn't that precious? I guess Mary has officially found a babysitter! I told the kids, "See? Elfie isn't so naughty after all!" To that my daughter replies, "That depends on if picks up the Nativity Set when he's done with it!" Lol...Always a crtitic!

Their Undies Were Hung By The Chimney With Care,
They Obviously Knew old Elfie'd Been There!

Well, this little Elfie was up to no good once again this morning. While the kids were sleeping, he hid the stockings and swapped them for the kids' UNDERWEAR! What a STINKER, huh!? (Sorry, I just couldn't resist that one.) My older two thought this was HILARIOUS, but my youngest, not so much. He was Mr. Sensitive this morning and was a bit embarrassed to have his underwear hanging in the family room. This strikes me as odd since any other day he more than happy to run around the house sporting nothing but his underwear! I would have thought my daughter would have been the one embarrassed about the underwear as she is 9 and really into the whole PRIVACY thing, but she giggled with delight when she saw what Elfie had done. Ah, well...I guess it goes to show, no matter how well you know your kids, you still can never 100% gauge their reaction. I am having such a blast with this elf thing!
Happy Elfing!

 Santa's Wonderland

My husband and I, along with Grandma (who happens to be visiting), took the kids to see Santa yesterday at the Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shop. It was a 3 1/2 hour wait but so much to do it wasn't much of a bother. My husband was all to happy to hang out and wait in this Hunting/Fishing Wonderland! Plenty for everyone to do...and buy.

Well, after our 3 1/2 hours of waiting it was my kids' turn to see Santa. (Did I mention they were doing FREE pictures? Hence the long wait...not to mention there is NO HUNTING on Sundays here in VA so EVERYONE was out and about.) My kids got up to Santa and proceeded to tell him what a stinker little Elfie has been. He played along with the kids so well. He was really and AWESOME Santa!

Look at that! All three kids WITH SANTA! No one Terrified out of their minds AND they are ALL SMILING! And, as and added BONUS....they are all looking at the camera! This has never happened before, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Well, even after being tattled on by my children, it looks like little Elfie is at it again. My kids caught him playing Angry Birds this morning. Yep, even Santa's little helpers are addicted!  My 6 year old son REALLY got a kick out this!

 HAVE A GREAT DAY, ALL!

Fun with Elfie

 Our Elf on the Shelf

I am new to this blogging thing...so HERE IT GOES!

Well its Christmas time again and our little Elfie has made himself quite comfortable in our home. Last year Elfie just moved around to different areas of the house, BUT THANKS TO PINTEREST, our he has gotten a lot more CREATIVE.

If you are anything like me, you just can't wait for Christmas, and when it finally gets here it all goes by so quickly that it can be a real let down. That's why I really love the Elf on the Shelf idea. It keeps that magical anticipation of Christmas going all month long. And, yes, my family knows that Jesus is real reason for the season but, we still love to indulge in the whole Santa Clause fantasy. (My kids don't know its fantasy yet, so please don't burst their little bubbles!) As an added bonus the elf may deter bad behavior between Thanksgiving and Christmas...if your lucky!
     So, Happy Elfing!

Elfie making a bit of a mess out of the toilet paper in the kids' bathroom.

Elfie toasting himself some marshmallow goodness!

A little chocolate indulgence.

Elfie making the kids some special Holiday Muffins for breakfast.

Elfie Zip-Lining into the Christmas Tree.

Elfie painted the kids' noses red while they were sleeping. They were pretty mad at him in the morning. It was HILARIOUS! I think this is my favorite Elfie prank so far!

The stress of the holidays has finally gotten to this poor little elf. Elfie has gone fishing!
